Tarzino was a standout performer for Mick Price through the recent Spring Carnival and leads 2016 Australian Derby nominations.

Tarzino debuted to racing for third in a Pakenham minor over 1380m in early July before immediately returning to the paddock with a view towards the Spring Carnival.

Taking out each of his first two starts upon his racing resumption, the Tavistock colt made a credible transition to black type company when seventh in the Group 1 Caulfield Guineas (1600m) on October 10th before savaging the line for third in the Group 2 Moonee Valley Vase (2040m) on October 24th.

Jumping from the gates well in the Group 1 Victoria Derby (2500m) on October 31st, Tarzino produced a particularly impressive display to storm away late and post a maiden win at the highest level.

Victoria Derby runner-up Etymology is one of seven Godolphin runners included in 2016 Australian Derby nominations by trainer John O’Shea.

Etymology has posted one win and four minors through his six start career so far and experienced a huge rise to prominence through his Spring Carnival campaign.

Performing well in a host of minor Melbourne races upon debuting in August, the New Approach made a credible transition to black type company when sixth in the Listed UCI Stakes (1800m) on October 4th and clearly enjoyed the continual step-up in distance when third in the Group 3 Caulfield Classic (2000m) in his only other start prior to the Victoria Derby.

A total of fifteen fillies have been included in 2016 Australian Derby nominations including standout three-year-old Jameka, who has more than stamped herself as one to watch through a short but impressive career already.

Capping a strong autumn preparation with success in the Group 2 VRC Sires’ Produce Stakes (1350m) on March 14th, Jameka returned in spring for third in the key form-indicating Listed Atlantic Jewel Stakes (1200m) before again finishing third in the Group 2 Thousand Guineas Prelude (1400m).

Going one better when second behind Stay With Me in the Group 1 Thousand Guineas (1600m), the daughter of Myboycharlie delivered a strong field defeat in the Moonee Valley Vase before ending her campaign with success in the Group 1 Crown Oaks (2500m) on November 5th.
